Our focus is on the "complete athlete" and we recognize there is much more to the "art of coaching" than just the "science of training". Frequent coach/athlete communication, understanding and maintaining a healthy balance between an athlete’s life situation and sport, and tailoring approaches based on individual life schedule, experience, ability level and goals are cornerstones to our approach. Our coaches tailor YOUR program to fit YOUR life. We also work to foster better athlete self-awareness, develop confidence, physical and mental skills, and facilitate all aspects of preparation.

We have successfully coached cyclists and triathletes in 24 states and 10 countries and are accessible worldwide!  Coach George Ganoung is located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and Coach Averi Firari is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

The Otterhaus Coaching Name

Coach George Ganoung raced bikes several times in Europe in the early to mid 2000’s via cycling programs established through US Armed Forces Sports. Both the team’s manager and director lived in the municipality of Otterbach-Otterberg in Germany (look it up, its real!), and the cycling team often based itself in the same region. These trips were a big part of George’s development and adventure as a cyclist.  And, otters, and their active, athletic and playful behavior, reflect the positive “complete athlete” vibe we are about. Combine these factors, and the name Otterhaus Coaching was born.
