Congratulations to Wes Anderson who finished his first full Ironman this weekend at Ironman Maryland in windy and chilly conditions. It's been a fantastic year for Wes who also finished his first Half Ironman earlier this year. We had some challenges along the way including an abbreviated buildup and then a weather induced delay in race day that messed with our taper a bit, but he took it all in stride and executed perfectly on race day!
Stefan Zavislan continues to improve his time trialing, having a breakthrough performance at the 6th World Military Games in South Korea. He was the top american in the 32km TT and finished 12th overall in a strong international field, only :15 secs out of the top 10 and setting power bests along the way. Impressive for his first UCI level competition.
Jay ShalekBriski suffered a crash the World Military Games, but building up to it, he placed 3rd in the Coeur d'Alene Criterium and was the first finisher at the 108 mile Coeur d'Fondo the next day.
Jose Solis upgraded from Category 3 to Category 2 based on his solid international results and took a strong top 10, winning a bag of pasta and wine along with it, in his last race in Italy (how fitting!). He will be returning to the states from Italy this winter and is super motivated for next season!
Rafael Amorganda picked up 3rd in his last MTB race of the season just prior to the birth of his beautiful daughter Zabdiel Rafaeli! Congrats to him as he spends the early part of the off season adjusting to fatherhood!
